Bakewell paper is silicone coated on both sides, providing a perfect non-stick surface for baking and interleaving items such as meat, fish and cakes.
What are differences between the papers?
- Baking paper- this is a greaseproof paper. Since it is non-stick and heat resistant it is used for cooking and baking. It can also be known as parchment paper.
- Wax paper- this is paper with wax on it. This means it can’t be used in the oven as it could cause smoke and an unpleasant taste. On most occasions, baking paper can be used instead of wax paper as they both are non-stick. However, wax paper cannot be used instead of baking paper as it cannot go in the oven.
- Butter paper- this paper can’t be used for baking as it does not have a not stick surface. It is good for protecting surfaces, such as chopping boards when dealing with foods like raw meat and hot peppers. Butter paper is also useful for packing greasy and wet foods when going on an outing.
